Here is a detailed workflow on how to create photorealistic renders from Autodesk Revit using Kerkythea:
  1. First, make sure you have the latest version of Kerkythea installed on your computer. You can download Kerkythea for free from the Kerkythea website (https://www.kerkythea.net/).
  2. Next, open your Revit model and go to the "Export" tab in the ribbon. Click on the "Export" button and choose "Kerkythea (*.xml)" from the "Save as type" dropdown menu. Select a location to save the exported file and click "Save." This will export your Revit model as an .xml file that can be imported into Kerkythea.
  3. Open Kerkythea and go to the "File" menu. Select "Import" and choose "Revit (*.xml)" from the "Files of type" dropdown menu. Select the .xml file you exported from Revit and click "Open." This will import your Revit model into Kerkythea.
  4. In Kerkythea, you can use the "Material Editor" to apply materials to your model. To do this, go to the "Material" tab in the toolbar and click on the "New Material" button. This will open the "Material Editor" window, where you can choose a material from the library or create a custom material.
  5. To set up lighting in your model, go to the "Lighting" tab in the toolbar and click on the "Add Light" button. This will add a light to your model, which you can then adjust using the controls in the "Lighting" tab. You can add multiple lights to your model to create different lighting effects.
  6. To adjust the camera settings for your render, go to the "Camera" tab in the toolbar and use the controls to adjust the position, target, and other properties of the camera.
  7. Once you have applied materials, set up lighting, and adjusted the camera settings, you can create a render by going to the "Render" tab in the toolbar and clicking on the "Start Rendering" button. This will start the rendering process and generate a photorealistic render of your model.
  8. While the rendering process is running, you can monitor the progress by looking at the "Render Progress" window. When the rendering is complete, you will see a preview of the final render in the "Render Progress" window.
  9. To save your render, go to the "File" menu in Kerkythea and select "Save As." Choose a file format (such as .jpg or .png) and select a location to save the file.
